It’s no secret that the youth vote nationwide was a major component in pushing Joe Biden into the White House over incumbent Donald Trump in the 2020 Presidential election.
Now it seems Biden is abiding by that old adage about meeting voters where they live in the most 2023 of ways.
Reports have surfaced that Biden’s digital strategy team has been reaching out to social media celebrities and influencers with offerings of a special briefing room in the White House, according to Axios.
In short, Biden is looking to build a TikTok army to take his message straight to Gen Z voters ahead of the 2024 election.
Henry Sisson is one of the influencers being courted by Biden’s team. The 20-year-old NYU student is a high-profile advocate of Gen Z’s voting power, sporting over 600,000 followers on the platform.
Fox News reports that Biden is also looking to recruit 29-year-old TikTok star Vivian Tu and even older rising social media stars like popular blogger Heather Cox Richardson, a 61-year-old Substack writer whose educational posts about American history and how it equates to today’s current events have earned her over 1 million subscribers.
