During a recent Audacy Check In, Jermaine Dupri talked about his mental health through his incredible run, and how music is therapy for the producer.
LISTEN NOW: Jermaine Dupri on Music as Therapy
"I really don't like bother with anything else besides making music. I make sure that that's the first thing," shares JD. "I don't really bring the problems into the music world. I step outside of the music world and then there's some problems there or whatever. I go, I run right back in there as soon as I start."
"Music 100% is my therapy. That's why in making this new album, that's what it was. It was almost like a therapy session with me working with different artists, talking to people, and just having a different conversation with different walks of people," he adds. "It was a therapy. That's why I enjoyed doing it so much."
