PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — This is the legendary SchwarBurger. Much like its namesake, Phillies outfielder and designated hitter Kyle Schwarber, it packs a punch.

Jason Firestone, Aramark's senior director of concessions at Citizens Bank Park, says the ½-pound burger comes with 8 oz. of smoked barbecue brisket, sharp American cheese, bacon, onion rings and cherry pepper relish.

At the Phillies’ first postseason game, the first in a best-of-three series against the Miami Marlins, he said there are a lot of ways to attack it, but he had these tips to help KYW's Dave Uram take a swing:

"I would say take the onion rings off, all three, and then smash it down. Get a good bite of the cherry pepper, the bacon, the brisket and the burger, and then eat the onion rings on the side."

Jason Firestone, Aramark's senior director of concessions at Citizens Bank Park, says they wanted to do something over the top to add something special to this year's postseason. Anyone who knows Philadelphia sports fans knows that “over the top” is the standard playbook for Red October.

And although Firestone says Schwarber hasn't taken a bite of the behemoth yet — "We don't want to weigh him down for the postseason!" — he says the burger had an over-the-top introduction on a recent NBC Sports broadcast, coinciding with one of the slugger's legendary home runs.

"We had it slated for the second inning," Firestone said. "First inning, he goes up, hits a second-decker out in right field. It couldn’t have been any better."

Baseball fans can find the SchwarBurger in the Left Field Plaza at Citizens Bank Park. The $23 price tag may take a bite out of your wallet, but a portion of the proceeds will benefit Schwarber’s Neighborhood Heroes, which provides services for first responders and their families. Schwarber is the Phillies' nominee this season for the prestigious Roberto Clemente Award for his work with first responders.
