CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — A person is dead, and a firefighter, injured, after a fire broke out inside an Easttown Township home Saturday morning.
Around 11 a.m., fire crews received a report about smoke coming from a townhouse along the 500 block of Foxwood Lane.
A family member was outside when they arrived and told them someone was still inside the home. Firefighters then conducted a search and found a person dead in the basement after battling flames.
Justin McClure, deputy director of Fire Services for Chester County, said the townhome is connected to other buildings, but the fire was contained inside the basement and some of the first floor.
The fire was under control within 20 minutes.
A firefighter sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
An investigation is underway.
