PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — One person is dead and several are injured after a multi-vehicle crash in Holmesburg Friday night.
Police say shortly after 9 p.m. a silver Nissan SUV traveling north on State Road hit a black Honda while making a left on Ashburner Street. They say the Honda was driving in the opposite direction at a high speed.
The Honda, which had three people inside, then crashed into another car — a black Ford Escape — and a utility pole. The person driving the SUV fled the scene.
Police say one person in the Honda died and two others were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, where they are listed in extremely critical condition.
Three people inside the Ford Escape were also taken to a hospital for treatment. They are expected to be OK.
