PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 15-year-old was shot in the head in Southwest Philadelphia Friday night.

Police say it happened around 6:15 p.m. along the 6600 block of Guyer Avenue in Elmwood Park after a dispute broke out between the teen and suspect, later identified as 31-year-old Sharnay Lewis.

During the argument, Lewis pulled out a gun and fired at least one shot at the teen, who was inside a car. Police say the bullet entered through the rear windshield and traveled through the passenger side headrest before striking the girl in the head.

The teen was then driven to police to report the incident before being taken to a hospital, where she’s listed in stable condition.

Officers located Lewis outside a house on Guyer Avenue while responding to the incident. They say they obtained a search warrant and recovered a gun, ammunition, and a spent cartridge casing.

Lewis has been arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment of another person, and terroristic threats.
