PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Two people are dead, and eight are injured after three overnight shootings in Philadelphia.
The first incident happened just after 11 p.m. Friday in Northeast Philadelphia. Police said they responded to a call for a person with a gun at the intersection of Ditman and Sanger streets and found two people suffering from gunshot wounds.
A 15-year-old boy and a 35-year-old man had both been shot in their legs. Both were taken to nearby hospitals, where they are listed in stable condition.
Then, around 1 a.m. on Saturday, a 21-year-old man died in a quintuple shooting along the 1000 block of Green Street.
Two girls, ages 17 and 18, were injured and taken to a hospital. They are expected to be OK. Police said two other people who were also injured in the shooting arrived at the hospital later and are in stable condition.
About an hour later, a man died in a triple shooting in West Philadelphia.
It happened around 2:20 a.m. Saturday on the 5100 block of Bible Way near Lancaster Avenue.
Three men had been shot and transported to a hospital, where one died just before 3 a.m. The conditions of the other two have not been released.
Police are working to identify motives and suspects in each shooting.
