PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Amid the ongoing search for two armed suspects of an armed robbery of a Brinks armored truck this week, authorities have arrested a former Brinks truck driver and two other men in connection with an earlier armored truck heist in Port Richmond.

Federal prosecutors have charged Trayvine Jackson, 31, Daishaun “Daisha” Hughes-Murchison, 30, and Brian Wallace, 31 with robbery interfering with interstate commerce and other offenses. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the three Philadelphia men allegedly stole more than $2 million, on June 21, from an armored truck outside a Home Depot on Castor Avenue near East Thompson Street.

Authorities said Jackson worked for Brinks Security Services as a driver. His truck had been robbed on at least two occasions. According to court documents, he was terminated from Brinks on July 2 after an internal investigation into more than $15,000 of missing money. Jackson denied taking any money when questioned by Brinks.

Law enforcement is looking into the possibility that there is connection among a series of Brinks truck robberies in the region over the summer. Most recently, thieves robbed an armored truck in Cheltenham Township on Tuesday, outside the H Mart supermarket on Cheltenham Avenue and Old York Road.

According to Cheltenham Township police, two gunmen ambushed the driver and stole more than $700,000, before fleeing in a black Acura TLX with tinted windows.

Officials said they will look at data and evidence to determine a possible connection as the investigation continues.
