PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are looking to identify four men they say broke into more than 40 cars in Roxborough early Monday morning.

Officials say it happened between 4:45 and 5:15 a.m. next to Woodmere Apartments on Henry Avenue. Cars along Summit Avenue and Autumn River Run were also hit.

John Wiggins told our partners at NBC10 that he and his family had just gotten back from the shore when his son noticed his car windows were bashed in.

“Give us more patrol. All hours. We need it,” he said.

Gina Felder lives in the area and says people need to be more careful.

“Honestly, with things going on, make sure your windows are rolled up, your doors are locked,” she said. “I've seen people with tablets in their front seats, cameras, I've seen skateboards. I've seen a lot of different things and valuables in people's front seats and they just don't put them away. And they really should.”

The suspects were last seen on surveillance video driving a black Mercedes cross-over type SUV with tinted windows.

If you have any information on these incidents, police ask you call 215-686-8477.
