PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The family of a little girl in the hospital is pleading to the public to help find the man responsible for a hit-and-run nearly two weeks ago in West Philadelphia.

A 5-year-old girl named Divinity is in the intensive care unit at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, with her mom and aunt Elsie Johnson by her side. Johnson says what happened is unimaginable.

"They're out here living your life, having fun and they're in the hospital and suffering,” she said. “It's just not right."

Divinity was with her three-year-old sister, a one-year-old boy, and their 43-year-old family friend, walking home from school almost two weeks ago.
They were in the area of 56th and Vine Streets on September 2nd, when police say a man in a car hit the four of them before taking off.

Johnson says the family wants answers for what happened.

"This is a horrible thing you have done,” she said. “I don't know what prompted you to get in the truck and drive into people and over them, and leave them there like they didn't matter."

The other two kids are recovering at home, but the 43-year-old family friend is in the hospital with two broken legs, according to Johnson.

The driver hasn't been identified yet.

He's described as a man in his 50s, about 5'8", with a stocky build and bald.

After the suspect hit the group, police say he abandoned the car near 53rd and Race Street.

Investigators say they believe he goes by the name "Dre" and if you have any information, call police.
