PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Authorities found nearly a dozen guns and more than $350,000 worth of drugs — including fentanyl, meth and crack cocaine — inside a Philadelphia apartment located above a day care, the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General said.
The AG’s Office charged 36-year-old Justin Pearcy with multiple firearms and drug offenses, which officials say are tied to a trafficking operation.
Investigators executed search warrants inside Pearcy’s car and home on Hunting Park Avenue and found $33,000 in cash and 11 assault-style rifles — two handguns fitted to be fully automatic and one with a silencer. They also found ammunition and extended magazines.
“The evidence and facts indicate this was a stash house for drugs and weapons trafficking operations,” Attorney General Michelle Henry said in a statement. “Drug traffickers often protect their trade with guns and this case is just another example of that. More concerning is the fact that a daycare was in the same building.”
Pearcy has previous convictions, including aggravated assault, possession of a firearm, and eluding or escaping police.
He is next due in court in a few weeks. His bail is set at $2 million.
