PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- Amtrak is announcing new ability to accept digital forms of payment for train travel. The rail company is rolling out the new options to give travelers a choice besides debit and credit cards.

Passengers who use the Amtrak app can now use Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal to book a trip.

Amtrak executive Roger Harris says the digital payment options will give customers more flexibility and convenience in booking and paying for tickets.

Customers will also be able to save their preferred digital payment method, which will make booking future trips faster.

Amtrak says customers will also be able to change reservations originally paid for with one of the digital payment solutions.
