PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are looking for a 23-year-old wanted in connection with a shooting in East Germantown last week.
On Tuesday, April 1, an 18-year-old was shot in the chest at Lonnie Young Playground on East Chelten Avenue. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where officials say he remains in critical condition.
The shooting happened during an emergency meeting headed by city leaders at the Charles M. Finley Recreation Center in East Mount Airy. That's where three teen boys, ages 14, 15 and 16, were shot just a few days prior, on April 29.
Officials say there is an active arrest warrant for Anthony T. Smith. He is wanted on aggravated assault and gun charges.
