SOUTH JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — Atlantic City Electric is encouraging its customers to register for a free home energy audit to find ways they can save money on their bills.

Company officials visited an apartment at Pennsville Towers on Tuesday, where staff showed off their recent energy-efficiency upgrades that save residents money more than $100 a year, including smart thermostats, smart power strips, and efficient shower heads and faucets.

While $100 may not seem like a lot, Atlantic City Electric Regional President Phil Vavala said it adds up over time, and people with larger properties could potentially save even more after an energy assessment.

“We’ll get you connected with someone from the program to be able to come out and do an assessment,” he explained. “It’s a free audit as well.

“Obviously we’re Atlantic City Electric, and we serve electricity to customers, but some of the additional savings programs touch water-saving, the ability to also cover gas pipes, and things like that,” he said.

Homeowners and property managers are encouraged to visit the Atlantic City Electric website to schedule a home energy audit.
