CAMDEN, N.J. (KYW Newsradio) — A Camden County judge has denied bail for a Runnemede woman arrested last week in a murder-for-hire plot. Authorities said she tried to hire a hitman to kill her ex-boyfriend — a Philadelphia police officer — and his teenage daughter.
Prosecutors in court Friday described text messages and recorded conversations between 26-year-old Jaclyn Diiorio and the would-be hitman she met on Tinder. The hitman — a confidential informant — told police that Diiorio wanted to pay him $12,000 to kill her 53-year-old ex-boyfriend and his 19-year-old daughter.
Assistant County Prosecutor David Deitz said Diiorio texted the informant wanting proof that the hits would be carried out.
“She states … ‘Bro, I’ve seen fake pics. I’ve had someone send me a trash bag. LOL,’” Deitz read.
Dietz said Diiorio was also recorded saying she wanted the officer’s daughter killed first because killing a cop would attract too much attention from law enforcement.
Diiorio’s attorney, Robert Gamburg, said his client has no criminal history and should be granted bail.
“She is not a danger to the community. She is not a risk of flight,” he argued. “She is absolutely no risk whatsoever.”
However, Judge Yolanda Rodriguez denied Diiorio bail, saying she was concerned for the safety of the two alleged victims.
