PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Products that make living with chronic illness a little easier — that’s what the BeWell company is all about.

“Because it’s such a hard journey, whether it’s cancer or autoimmune disease, and people don’t think that there are comfort or quality items to make their journey easier,” said Amanda Phillips of Eagleville.

Phillips battles with Crohn’s disease and came up with the idea to start the company after her most recent hospitalization in 2022, as she wanted to provide comfort and warmth to people when they need it most.

She officially launched BeWell two years ago, and it has since grown from a $5,000 startup to a $750,000 game changer, offering quality hoodies, pants, blankets, socks and more. The key, she says, is her accessible and discrete design.

“We have a multi access design where the zippers go over everything from a port, to a heart monitor and feeding tube,” she said. “So I designed them all so you can wear them all from infusion day, to hospital stay, and grocery store to a beach day.”
