2 shot, including 5-year-old boy, during custody exchange in Bala Cynwyd

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Two people were shot, including a 5-year-old boy, during a custody exchange in Bala Cynwyd Sunday morning, according to police.

Around 8 a.m., Lower Merion police said gunshots were fired in the parking lot of the now-closed Lord & Taylor department store on City Avenue.

The 5-year-old boy was shot in the foot, and a 31-year-old man from Philadelphia was shot several times.

Both were taken to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

The person responsible for the shooting is in police custody.
