PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 55-year-old Bucks County man has admitted to hiding cameras in a bathroom in the home he shared with a woman and secretly recording videos of her teenage daughters.
Prosecutors said the investigation into John Dutton, of Bristol Township, started after his former girlfriend found the hidden camera pointed at the shower. The camera was disguised as a USB phone charging plug.
The woman told police she was suspicious of Dutton when he said he didn’t want a shower curtain, and that he preferred a clear curtain in the shared bathroom.
Investigators found a similar camera near a pool cabana in the backyard of the home.
When they served a search warrant in November 2023, investigators found videos on Dutton’s phone showing the woman’s underage daughters undressing and using the shower.
And, in addition to methamphetamine, they found an iCloud account associated with Dutton that had more than 250 similar videos recorded between 2021 and 2023.
This week, Dutton pleaded guilty to six counts of invasion of privacy, two counts of violation of wiretapping laws, and drug charges.
A sentencing date for Dutton has not yet been set.
