NEW JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — A Burlington County man accused of soliciting nude pictures of and videos of boys he met on social media has been arrested and charged.
The investigation into 23-year-old Kristopher Trela began after the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office received multiple tips from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children about his “concerning online activities.”
Investigators say Trela would pretend to be a girl and talk to underage boys on Discord, Snapchat and Instagram, sending them explicit photos and videos and asking for some in return.
He then traded the received content with other adult men online.
Trela had been working at the Champions Before and After School Care Program. Investigators say they do not believe any of the videos in his possession were of the students in the program.
The Southampton Township School District Superintendent told our newsgathering partners at NBC10 that Trela was immediately removed from his role there, and they are cooperating with the investigation.
Trela is facing several charges, including distributing and manufacturing child sexual abuse material.
