SOUTH JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — A special counsel will look into what caused long lines and voting delays on Election Day in Burlington County, New Jersey last November.

Burlington County Commissioners said they have appointed the law firm Connell Foley to look into various details of the election, including the implementation of new voting machines, the locations and makeup of voting districts, and poll worker training and management.

The firm will report back with findings and make recommendations for improvements.

County Commissioner Director Felicia Hopson said it’s in the best interest for everyone to have an independent third party conduct the review of the 2024 general election.

“Burlington County residents deserve accountability and appropriate action to ensure the 2024 election failures are not repeated, and our Board is committed to making sure that occurs,” she said in a statement.

Officials said Connell Foley was selected because it’s one of the largest and most respected firms in the state.
