Camden County to expand COVID-19 services before Christmas

BLACKWOOD, N.J. (KYW Newsradio) — As Christmas approaches, Camden County is expanding services at its COVID-19 Health Hub in Blackwood. County Commissioner Jon Young says the goal is to make it easier for everyone to gather for the holidays safely.

Starting Dec. 20, COVID-19 testing will be available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., at Camden County College in Blackwood. And vaccinations and booster shots are available Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Vaccines are available for anyone over age 5, and boosters for anyone over age 16.

County Commissioner Jon Young says they are continuing twice-a-week vaccination and booster options, because COVID-19 case counts are surging all over.

"Our numbers are starting to rise. We’re averaging somewhere around 150 a day here in Camden County," Young said. "So we are on the uptick for sure so we just want to make sure that everyone stays safe during the holidays."

The hours of operation will be reduced after New Years's Day.
