PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — More dust is settling in the Central Bucks School District after the political upheaval of its board in the most recent election.
The new Democratic-controlled board is tapping Jim Scanlon to fill in as its interim superintendent.
Scanlon, 65, served as the superintendent of the West Chester Area School District for 12 years before retiring in 2021.
The Central Bucks School Board expects to pass a six-month, $135,000 contract for him at a meeting on Jan. 9.
Abram Lucabaugh, an ally of the former GOP-held board, resigned as the superintendent of Central Bucks in November. He left with a $700,000 severance package that was greenlit during a lame-duck board meeting.
The board says it will continue its search for a permanent superintendent.
