PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 5-year-old riding an e-bike was seriously hurt when he was hit by a car in Bucks County.
It happened around 6:30 p.m. Sunday near Truman High School in Levittown.
Bristol Township police said the boy was heading out of the parking lot onto Green Lane when he collided with a sedan.
The boy was airlifted to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. No word yet on his condition.
Police warning
Warwick Township police issued a warning saying they will give both kids and their parents citations if children violate e-bike laws.
Officials said they have seen an uptick in complaints of kids riding the bikes on private and public property without authorization, putting themselves and others at risk.
If your child has an e-bike, Warwick Township police are urging you to talk to them about being a safe, responsible rider.
