PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Bucks County music teacher has been charged with the possession of thousands of pieces of child pornography.
Christopher Bygott, 47, of Hamilton, New Jersey, was released on $250,000 bail after surrendering to police on Tuesday.
Authorities received two tips earlier this month that were linked to an IP address, which was used to upload pornographic materials of children to an Amazon account.
Bucks County detectives said Amazon confirmed the account belonged to Bygott. Investigators then linked that IP address to the Pennsbury School District — Bygott worked as a music instructor at Pennsbury High School in Falls Township.
Bucks County detectives interviewed Bygott on Dec. 13, and a forensic search of his cellphone turned up 2,000 images and videos of child pornography.
Bygott was released on bail under the condition that he has no contact with minors and no internet use.
