Dozens of shots fired at man in SUV outside City Avenue hotel, police say

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police are looking for the shooter who fired at least 30 shots at a man in an SUV outside a hotel along City Avenue Wednesday night.

It happened around 6 p.m. in front of the Courtyard Marriott on Presidential Boulevard.

Police said the man was sitting in a GMC Yukon outside the hotel when someone started shooting at him. The victim took off down City Avenue and crashed into a Mercedes on the on-ramp to the Schuylkill Expressway.

The Yukon had 30 bullet holes in it.

The driver suffered a graze wound to his abdomen. He was treated at the hospital and released.

There were two people in their 40s inside the Mercedes. They are both in the hospital in stable condition.
