PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) Pennsylvania American Water said its crews have fixed the issue of some Montgomery County customers experiencing cloudy water, low water pressure, or no water at all.

Crews started making emergency repairs around 7 a.m. at the treatment plant that transports water to Norristown, Bridgeport, Upper Merion, Worcester, Whitpain, East Norriton, West Norriton and Skippack townships.

Repairs were expected to last until about 8 p.m. but finished before noon.

Pennsylvania American said in a statement, “Operations personnel were alerted to a mechanical issue at Pennsylvania American Water’s Norristown plant earlier this morning. Water from reserve tanks was utilized while the issue was fixed. At no point was water quality or safety affected and any less than normal experiences of pressure in the Norristown system will dissipate quickly.”

Pennsylvania American said some customers may still experience discolored water. If so, the company said to run the cold water taps at the lowest level of the house for three to five minutes until it runs clear.
