PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — More than a week after the deadly shooting of a football player following a scrimmage at Roxborough High School, both that school’s game and a contest at Coatesville High School were canceled Friday, with a specific threat at the Chester County school.

Roxborough’s game was canceled for the second week in a row. That team was scheduled to play Kipp Dubois Collegiate Academy at 3 p.m.

The reason for the cancellation wasn't immediately disclosed.

Nicolas Elizalde, 14, was shot and killed in Roxborough on Sept. 27, and four other teens were injured. Philadelphia police are looking for persons of interest, and have asked them to turn themselves in.

Friday night’s Coatesville Area High School football game against Downingtown West has also been canceled, because of online threats of violence.

Initially, the Coatesville Area School District was planning to play the game without spectators,  but in a statement, school officials say they received additional information from police that prompted them to cancel it.

Coatesville High School students were dismissed early on Friday and all school activities for the day and evening were called off.

The school district said it plans on holding high school homecoming activities as planned.

The district said the decision, while disappointing, was made out of an abundance of caution for students, staff, and the community.
