PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police said an officer was hit by a car Wednesday night in South Philadelphia while on Phillies traffic detail.
Authorities said it happened shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Packer Avenue, outside the South Philadelphia Sports Complex.
According to officials, a 33-year-old man driving a white Subaru hit the officer, who was redirecting traffic for the Phillies game. The impact caused the officer to roll off the vehicle’s windshield and roof.
The officer was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. The driver stayed at the scene.
An investigation is ongoing.
