PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police said a driver struck and killed a man who was crossing Broad Street in North Philadelphia Sunday night.

It happened under the Glenwood Avenue Bridge around 8 p.m.

A 38-year-old man was found in the street, and his belongings were scattered in the road.

Police Inspector D.F. Pace said the man might be from Montgomery County.

“The person has an address outside of the city,” he said. “We’re not sure whether that is an old address or whether they are from the Pottstown area, where we believe that person may be from.”

Police do not have a good description of the vehicle that hit and killed the man, only that it’s a white car.

Investigators are checking surveillance video to try to get a license plate.
