LANSDALE, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — A person was killed in a fast-spreading townhouse fire in Lansdale, Montgomery County, early Friday morning.
Officials said the fire started around 6 a.m. at a split-level townhome on Andover Road, near Wedgewood Drive.
Neighbors said they heard popping noises and then loud booms; then, the flames spread quickly to the three homes that are attached.
Officials said one person was killed.
The Red Cross is helping the displaced families.
Firefighters quickly got the fire under control. Investigators went through the gutted house where the fire started to try to figure out the cause.
Officials did not say whether or not there were working smoke detectors in the home.
