PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Delaware teens can win free college tuition just for getting vaccinated against COVID-19.
That’s just one of the many incentives created by the state to encourage people to get vaccinated, a program dubbed called DEWINS! Individuals who get vaccinated in Delaware can enter the raffles for the chance to win money and other prizes.
Vaccinated teens between the ages of 12 and 17 can enter to win a full scholarship to a Delaware university.
There will also be two $5,000 drawings a week for the next five weeks. Delawareans 18 and older who got vaccinated between now and June 29 can enter.
Other prizes include free tolls throughout the state, Firefly tickets, four-day vacations at Delaware destinations, and a yearlong DART pass.
The final giveaway will be announced on June 30 and applies to all vaccinated Delawareans, no matter when you got the shot. The prize is $302,000 and two low-number license plates.
Gov. John Carney hopes this will help them reach their goal of 70% vaccinated adults in the coming weeks.
