PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- Delaware is raising occupancy limits in restaurants, gyms, retail and more locations from 30% to 50%. This latest easing of COVID-19 restrictions will take effect next week Friday, Feb. 12, at 8 a.m.

Gov. John Carney announced Thursday morning that restaurants, retail locations, gyms, houses of worship, arts and performance spaces, and other businesses must not exceed 50% of maximum capacity. These locations must continue to follow social distancing and enforce mask-wearing and other COVID-19 mitigation guidelines issued by local and state governments.

The Delaware Restaurant Association notes that table size is still limited to six guests from the same household with no more than four adults.

All indoor gatherings, including weddings, funerals and parties, are limited to 10 people.

The modified restrictions also allow youth and amateur sports to resume with a plan approved by the Division of Public Health. Delawareans who travel out of state for games are no longer required to self-quarantine before re-entering.
