NORRISTOWN, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — A Hatboro man has been arrested and charged with soliciting sex and illicit photographs from an underage girl.
According to police in Montgomery County, two parents came to them last Thursday, concerned about their son’s girlfriend after her recent interaction with a man.
Police said that a 15-year-old girl was walking her dog with her younger sister when a man, later identified as 76-year-old Dennis Reilly of Hatboro, approached them. Police said that after asking about their shoes and socks, Reilly offered the girls $100 each for pictures of their feet.
After that encounter, officials said Reilly sent the girl an overwhelming amount of texts. Her boyfriend’s father messaged Reilly from his phone, posing as the girl and claiming she got a new number. Police then took over correspondence with Reilly.
Police said Reilly asked to meet up and offered $300 for sexual activities. An officer arranged a meet-up at a Hatboro Wawa. After confronting Reilly, police said he admitted to asking for sex while also claiming he wouldn’t actually do it.
Reilly faces charges related to criminal solicitation and unlawful contact with a minor. He’s behind bars at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility with bail set at $99,000. Reilly is due in court on March 12 for a preliminary hearing.
