NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The FBI is asking for the public’s help identifying four suspects accused of trying to rob an armored truck in Northeast Philly two months ago.
According to authorities, two masked men attempted to rob a Loomis truck driver outside a Holmesburg Wawa at the corner of Frankford Avenue and Meridian Street around 8 a.m. on Oct. 17. The FBI said one of them was carrying a rifle.
The Loomis driver fired five rounds at the suspects before officials said they fled down the alley behind the Wawa.
According to the FBI, the suspects left a stolen Acura RDX at the scene and got into a stolen red Honda Accord that was waiting for them.
Authorities said the two suspects and their getaway driver later left the Accord and ran away.
The FBI has released the four suspects’ photos on its website and across social media. It advises that they should be considered armed and dangerous.
