PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A dispute over fireworks sparked a triple shooting in Brewerytown early Tuesday morning.
It was around 1 a.m. on Newkirk Street near Oxford Street in Brewerytown when some people were outside, hanging out and drinking.
At some point, police said one of the neighbors got into an argument over fireworks being set off.
A short time later, his car was hit by fireworks.
So, he went home, got a gun, came back and opened fire, police said.
At least 14 shots were blasted at the scene and three people were hit.
A 53-year-old man was struck in the chest and two women in their early 20s were hit in the knee and back. All three were taken to the hospital and listed in critical condition.
Detectives combed through the scene for clues. Several evidence markers were scattered around the ground. Investigators did not recover a gun and no one was arrested. It was not immediately clear where the shooter went. The incident is under investigation.
