NEW JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — Police have arrested and charged a Florida woman accused of stealing packages off people’s porches in Gloucester Township.

U.S. Marshals took 31-year-old Ebony Gomez of Jacksonville into custody on Monday.

Surveillance footage shows Gomez inside a white Dodge Journey approaching several houses where packages had been delivered earlier this month. She then leaves the car, grabs the packages, and drives away.

When confronted by a resident, Gomez identified herself as a delivery driver who dropped the packages at their house by accident, then continued to steal the packages.

On Dec. 8, police attempted to stop Gomez, who was driving with unrestrained children, but she fled the scene.

Police then did a check of the area and located Gomez, but she once again fled the scene and injured an officer after hitting them with her car.

Gomez is charged with multiple counts of eluding, endangering the welfare of a child, aggravated assault against law enforcement, and theft of moveable property.
