Franklin Square Park's fountain the star of its new summer season

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Franklin Square Park, at 6th and Race streets in Philadelphia's historic district, is celebrating its 15th summer season. There is plenty to do for all ages and it all centers around the park's fountain.

"We are excited to have people come back to Franklin Square," said Amy Needle, president and CEO of Historic Philadelphia, the nonprofit that manages Franklin Square.

"Two years ago, pre-COVID, we debuted the gorgeous Franklin Square fountain show, which now runs on the half-hour from noon until the evening, until we close. It's a beautiful fountain show put to sound and lights and music and it's free."

Also free this summer are music, yoga and various dance classes.

Visitors can buy food and drinks at the park's beer garden. You'll need to pay for the carousel or a game of miniature golf too.

More information is at Historic Philadelphia's website.
