PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Roslyn Jeffers and Antoinette Howard are passionate about feeding people in their community. According to Jeffers, it all started with a challenge by a friend on Facebook to help feed the homeless in Camden.

"So I met the challenge," she said. "I went out there the next week and I started to help feed. And I got into it. And I was like, oh my God, I'm gonna do this every week with you."

Howard said everyone knows that when their Cadillac pulls up, good food is coming to an area in need.

"Plus, coming from a city where we do have food insecurity, especially when it comes to fresh food," she added.

The mother-daughter duo delivers food every other Tuesday and also supplies personal items. Jeffers said it's their calling.

"When it comes from the heart, you're touching people, and that's what gets me," she said.

They say it's important to treat people with dignity and without judgment.

"It's people right now who may look and dress the best. Every day they come to work. But you never know. They're going through internal turmoil at home, struggling to feed their babies."

Their ultimate goal is to take it to the next level: a tractor-trailer that would offer people services, including a shower.
