Police arrest man accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend and her 5-year-old daughter in a North Philadelphia home

Both victims are still in critical condition, police say

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police are investigating a stabbing that left a 5-year-old girl and her mother critically hurt Monday night.

Around 7:30 p.m., police responded to a house on 20th Street, between Berks Street and Montgomery Avenue. Officers found the girl and her 37-year-old mother in the first-floor living room, where both of the victims had been stabbed several times, according to police.

They were rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Investigators went over the crime scene but did not find a weapon, police said. However, on Wednesday morning, authorities said they arrested 28-year-old Sean Tucker of Strawberry Mansion on charges including attempted murder and aggravated assault.

Police said he stabbed the girl and her mother — who investigators said is Tucker's ex-girlfriend — multiple times.
