PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A former teacher in the Lower Merion School District will spend 30 years in prison for soliciting sexually explicit photos and videos from young girls, including at least one of his students.
Jeremy Schobel, 33, was a teacher at Harriton High School in Bryn Mawr. Over several years — and often from his classrooms — investigators said he faked extensive online profiles to entice his underage victims. Officials said he would pose as a young girl on Snapchat.
Schobel was arrested in June 2023 and pleaded guilty to child pornography charges in March.
Federal prosecutors said the 30-year sentence closes the book on Schobel’s years of catfishing and gives his victims a measure of justice.
