PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Armed intruders early Sunday morning robbed a home in the city's Northeast, while holding the occupants at gunpoint.

Robbers broke into a home in the Mayfair neighborhood before sunrise on Sunday morning and stole money and valuables worth tens of thousands of dollars, according to police. Just after 5:15 a.m., four men broke into a home on Cottman Avenue near Sackett Street, according to police officials.

Those officials say the robbers appear to be in their 20s, and were wearing ski masks. One had on a green coat, while the other three wore black coats.

Police say they held five people at gunpoint: a 15-year-old boy, a 25-year-old woman, a 29-year-old man, a 55-year-old woman, and a 61-year-old man.

The suspects stole $19,000 in U.S. currency, $25,000 worth of jewelry, and five iPhones, authorities say.

Police do not know which direction they fled. The Northeast Detectives are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
