Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said relief efforts are being organized after deadly tornadoes tore through five states late Friday. The American Red Cross and other humanitarian organizations are doing what they can to help tornado victims and setting up dedicated funds to accept donations for victims.

The Red Cross is making it easy to send a quick $10 donation simply by texting "REDCROSS" to 90999. Other donations can be made by calling 800-733-2767 or visiting their website.

The organization tweeted, "We're working to make sure everyone has a safe place to stay, food, relief supplies and emotional support."

The Salvation Army also set up a disaster relief fund for tornado victims. The goal is to dispatch mobile kitchens that can serve 500 to 1,500 meals per day to survivors and first responders in the affected areas. Donations can be made by calling 800-725-2769.
