PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 40-year-old inmate at SCI Phoenix in Montgomery County is facing murder charges after authorities said he killed his cellmate earlier this month.
On the morning of Nov. 1, Nathan Blose’s cellmate, 45-year-old Shaun Harden, was found dead. A medical examiner found hemorrhaging on Harden’s neck, chest and back and ruled his death a homicide.
Surveillance video shows no one else entering the cell overnight, according to prosecutors, and Blose acknowledged that he and Harden were the only people in the cell overnight.
Blose was a little over four years into his five- to 10-year sentence on gun charges.
Harden was serving a six- to 10-year sentence for molesting three children, all under the age of 13.
Blose is now charged with first- and third-degree murder. He remains in prison.
