PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Montgomery County officials are looking for a man, Terrence Marche, they say pulled the trigger in a bizarre murder in Lansdale. Marche reportedly "went missing" in Central America.
Authorities say they are trying to find Marche, 48, from King of Prussia. He faces charges of both first and third degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder, along with weapons charges.
In November 2020, 30-year-old Ebony Pack was found dead, sitting in the driver’s seat of her Nissan Sentra with the car running at the intersection of East Hancock Street and Church Road in Lansdale. Several bullet holes were found in the side of the car.
Another car was seen in video from the intersection, pulling next to her as she stopped at the red light. Video showed that it drove away as her car drifts into a pole.
The man police said was driving that car is already in custody, charged with murder.
Now, authorities are looking for Marche, as they said he was in the car and fired the shots into Pack’s Sentra.
However, the criminal complaint says another man, Chong Ling Dan, may be behind the murder. As of Monday, he had not been charged.
According to investigators, Pack had left her relationship with Dan in July 2020. Around that time, Pack had begun a relationship with a woman who was her girlfriend when she was murdered in November.
Dan had become abusive to Pack after their breakup, according to what Pack's girlfriend told police, and made a threat in either the exact or similar words to "I'm gonna fix her," or "I have something for her."
Pack's girlfriend told police that the victim was traveling to her house on November 28. But before Pack could arrive, according to surveillance video, someone driving a Cadillac sedan had been following Pack's car.
The complaint said that detectives traced the car to Ricky Vance, someone who had been in communication with Marche before and after the murder, and that evidence showed that someone in a passenger's seat fired the bullets.
Additional evidence showed Marche, Dan and Vance all had cellphones found in the area of Dan's girlfriend's house just before the murder. Marche and Vance not only had dozens of communications between July of 2020 and the murder, but were traveling in the same direction and were not in use during the time of the murder, according to the complaint.
Vance has also been charged with first and third degree murder, conspiracy and other charges.
Authorities say that Marche left the U.S. for Honduras in mid-April of this year and "went missing."
Marche's fiancé told investigators that he told her he was going to meet Dan in Honduras. The criminal complaint said Marche's fiancé took a call from Dan saying he would be returning to the U.S. without Marche. His fiancé said Marche hasn’t been heard from since.
The Montgomery County District Attorney's office added that the investigation continues, and a $10,000 reward is still available for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
