PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The nephew of former Local 98 boss John Dougherty has pleaded guilty to a single misdemeanor charge in relation to a 2021 indictment that also included his uncle and involved him threatening and attacking a union employer for alleged unpaid wages.

Instead of being retried on extortion charges, which carry much more time in jail, Gregory Fiocca cut a deal and pleaded guilty to one count of unlawfully demanding money as a union representative from a union employer.

The 2021 indictment addressed an incident that allegedly occurred on the job site of the now-built Live! Casino and Hotel in South Philadelphia. Fiocca was alleged to have attacked and threatened the project supervisor after he docked his pay.

Fiocca is set to be sentenced on Jan. 7, 2025, and faces a maximum of a year in prison and a $10,000 fine.
