WEST CHESTER, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — The Malvern man who was arrested at the “No Kings” protest in West Chester over the summer for bringing a gun, knives, and ammunition now faces bomb-making charges in federal court.

On June 14, a witness at the rally told police they saw 31-year-old Kevin Krebs, of Malvern, concealing a firearm in his waist.

Police then discovered he also had a loaded AR-15-style weapon in his vehicle, and two loaded handguns, a bayonet, a knife, pepper spray and a ski mask and gloves on him. He was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed firearm without a license.

A few days later, authorities searched his home and found 13 IEDs — homemade bombs — built from cans, bottles, nails, kitchen timers, batteries, CO cartridges and wires.

Krebs is now charged in federal court with unlawful making and possessing of unregistered destructive devices. In addition to the firearms violation, officials in Chester County have charged Krebs with 13 counts of possession of weapons of mass destruction and related offenses.

It is unclear when he will face the federal charges. The gun charge has been waived to the Chester County Court of Common Pleas, while the county bomb charges are scheduled for a hearing in district court on Dec. 18.
