PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Halloween may be over, but there’s magic and mystery all month long at the Kimmel Center.

In a dark room set up with tables all around and a stage at the front, audiences are ushered in to a memorial for the late, great magician Dieter Roterburg.

Throughout the night, magicians perform close-up magic at every table, before Dieter gives guests one last surprise from the grave.

Francis Menotti and his wife, Lindsey Noel, are two of the local magicians brought in while the touring show is in Philadelphia. They create their own characters and perform their own tricks.

“That was left to us,” Noel said, “and I kind of love that as someone who combines theatrics with their performance and magic.”

They travel all over performing as a couple, but Menotti said it’s nice to do a show at home and be part of an ensemble.

“For me personally, it’s like, oh, I don’t get to usually work with our friends that are even local.”

Not all the performers get to all the tables, so if you come again, you'll see different performers doing different magic.

The production originated in London, and now it travels from city to city in the U.S. The Magicians Table is at the Kimmel Center’s SEI Innovation Studio through Nov. 21.
