PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — An alleged dine-and-dash attempt at a King of Prussia restaurant ends in a hit-and-run collision, injuring the owner.

Upper Merion Township police say a family of four skipped out on paying their bill just before 2 p.m. Sunday at the Gateway Café on Flint Hill Road.

When employees and the owner of the café ran after the two adults and two young children into the parking lot, that's when the owner was hit with their car, police say.

Witnesses told police that the family fled southbound on Flint Hill Road heading towards Swedeland Road in a maroon-colored, newer model Kia with tinted windows and damage on the driver’s side door. Police say the vehicle displayed a temporary license plate that may have begun with the letters LRS.
