PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — One of the best ways to feel better after more than a year of dealing with COVID-19 doesn’t cost a thing.

The safest way to get exercise and begin socializing again is to get outdoors and enjoy the fresh air. Weather permitting, it is always an option.

There are additional advantages that go way beyond COVID-19 when it comes to the outdoors. Exposure to sunlight and fresh air have been shown to have a positive impact on mood, which researchers say may be more important now than in years past.

If you have the opportunity, take time to get outside, even if it is just for a few moments.

It is the safest place to be, and as more people get vaccinated, it is a chance to reconnect with people you may not have seen for quite some time.
