PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A new pattern appears to be developing in the race to get people vaccinated against COVID-19.
Certain states have had significantly lower vaccination rates than others, and it's not surprising that the number of hospitalizations and deaths has been highest in those states. But epidemiologists are reporting a trend: Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama are following the lead of Tennessee with significantly higher vaccination rates.
According to the CDC, Tennessee had the country's worst COVID-19 case rate several weeks ago, but it has had the sixth-highest vaccination rate since that time.
It appears that a growing number of those who have been hesitant have looked around and seen the impact of not being vaccinated, as well as the fact that many of the inaccurate comments surrounding vaccine dangers have not been validated.
